New Driveway and Garden

Before: Old fashioned and uneven crazy paved driveway needed to be replaced and to cut down maintenance time, a lawn was no longer needed but the client wanted the front garden to be a garden that provided year round interest from the house and was not simply a car parking space.

Design Solution: Loosing the lawn gave the potential for two off road car parking spaces and widening the left hand side border increased the planting space. The drive was linked to the side gate by a stepping stone path through gravel a material used extensively in the rear garden. The gravel area provides further space for the client to indulge their love of sun loving plants and the view from the house to the front is enhanced by the addition of a tree and low maintenance shrubs, spring flowering bulbs and summer flowering herbaceous plants.
